Supervised Visitation

Family Services opened a Supervised Visitation Center in 1999 and is the only center of its kind in Tulare and Kings Counties. Supervised Visitation is contact between a non-custodial party and one or more children in the presence of a neutral third person. Neutrality in the context of the Supervised Visitation Program means that the program staff members are not advocates for either parent, but are present to ensure a setting that is supportive of children’s safety.

Supervised visits assure that a child can have safe contact with a non-custodial parent without having to be put in the middle of the parents’ conflicts or be vulnerable to a parent’s other problems. Family Services belongs to and follows the standards of the National Supervised Visitation Network.

Supervised visits occur at our Children’s Counseling Center, In-Home Parenting Support Center, and space provided by local partner agencies throughout the community.
