Domestic Violence Services

Family Services believes in a holistic approach to serving families affected by domestic violence and are committed to providing treatment to individuals impacted by domestic violence on all levels, so that the entire family may have an opportunity to heal from abuse.


VICTIM SERVICES

Crisis Hotline – our domestic violence crisis hotline (559-732-5941) is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Family Services’ crisis counselors can simply listen or they can provide callers with information about how to connect to resources including shelters, legal assistance, support groups, and counseling. Hotline counselors also provide education about domestic violence and help victims to create a safety plan.

Emergency Shelter – our emergency shelter, “Karen’s House,” offers women and their children confidential shelter, meals, and services at no charge while they work to reestablish their lives in a supportive environment.

OFFENDER SERVICES

Family Services offers a fee-for-service, Probation Certified Batterer’s Intervention Program which features: 52-week (minimum) group education and treatment program meeting the state mandated criteria as per PC1203.097, group facilitators trained in working with domestic violence issues and who have completed all mandatory training as per PC 1203.098, and a focus on accountability.

Participation in Batterer’s Intervention Program may come through a court order or voluntary enrollment. Family Services also offers Anger Management and Child Abuse Intervention groups.
