In-person Crisis Response

How does it work?
Family Services’ Victim Advocates are part of the Tulare County Sexual Assault Response Team. That means they are automatically called to the hospital to support victims of rape or molestation during forensic evidence examinations. Victim Advocates also provide crisis counseling, information and referrals at our Rape Crisis Center on a walk-in or appointment basis. Victims or their significant others may request to meet Advocates at community locations such as schools, health facilities, businesses or community agencies to receive crisis counseling, information or referral.

Who is eligible?
Any victim of sexual assault, including molest, incest, rape, or sexual harassment or coercion and their significant others. It does not matter how long ago the assault or abuse happened or whether it was ever reported to anyone.

How to access this service.
Call the crisis hotline number for in-person crisis response.

What information needs to be provided?
Some basic information about the victim and their situation is all that needs to be given.

What will it cost?
Crisis response, information and referral services to sexual assault victims and their loved ones are free.
