Envisioned and executed under the incredible leadership of Tulare County District Attorney Tim Ward and his staff, the annual Justice Run is hosted during Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October) and is an opportunity for runners, walkers, law enforcement, and community members to come together in support of local agencies working to serve victims of domestic violence. The event consists of a 5k run and 1 mile walk to raise funds for our local domestic violence shelters. 4th Annual Justice Run: October 18, 2014
District Attorney Tim Ward invites you to join us in the Tulare County District Attorney Justice Run, October 18, 2014, at Mooney Grove Park in Visalia. This run honors Domestic Violence Awareness Month and will benefit Family Services of Tulare County, the Central California Family Crisis Center, and the Crime Victim Advocacy Center of Tulare County. These three agencies serve the needs of domestic violence victims at their children. There is no excuse for abuse!
The Justice Run consists of a 5K run (chip-timed by RTS Timing) or a 1-mile walk. Registration costs $25 per person, or $30 if you register after October 3. All participants who register early receive an event shirt. There are three ways to register by Friday, October 3:
1. Register and pay online through active.com.
2. Register in person at Maverick’s Roasting Company and Coffee Shop (238 E. Caldwell, Visalia).
3. Print out, complete, and mail in the PDF registration form with payment to 221 S. Mooney Blvd, Rm 264, Visalia, CA 93291.
Check-in is at Maverick’s Roasting Company and Coffee Shop (238 E. Caldwell, Visalia) on Friday, October 17 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. to receive your race packet and event shirt. Late registration and packet pickup is available on race day at the event from 7-7:30 a.m.
In addition to the 5K run and 1-mile walk, the event also hosts a Public Safety 5k Challenge. If you work for a Tulare County Law Enforcement Agency or Fire Department, you are invited to participate int he Justice Run as a competition between agencies. If a team member from your agency crosses the finish line first, your agency will receive a plaque with your name engraved to commemorate the event.

This year’s event was hosted on Saturday October 20th, 2012 at Mooney’s Grove Park. More than 400 runners and walkers attended in support of local domestic violence shelters. Participants brought hygiene products for women and children fleeing their homes, and heard from a survivor of an attempted homicide about her gratitude for their support of programs for victims and survivors. In total, the event raised over $12,000 for Family Services and CCFCC
3rd Annual Justice Run (2013 )
On October 12, 2013 at 8am, Tulare County District Attorney Tim Ward will host the 3rd Annual Justice Run: 5k race/ 1 mile walk as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The event will be held at Mooney’s Grove Park in Visalia and costs just $25 before Sept. 27th. All proceeds of the Justice Run benefit Family Services of Tulare County and the Central California Family Crisis Center, the two primary organizations that provide shelter and services to victims of domestic violence in Tulare County.
