How to access this service.
Apply in person at 815 W. Oak St. in Visalia.

What information needs to be provided?
Applicants will be asked to provide basic demographic information and will have a private intake session to share information about needs and to ask questions.

What does it cost?
The fee for individual and family counseling is $90.00 per hour. Applicants may qualify for a reduced fee through community sponsorship or grant funds. Anyone requesting a fee lower than $90.00 must provide proof of income to determine eligibility.

Parenting Education

How to access this service.
Parenting classes are available on a walk-in basis in Woodlake, Cutler-Orosi, Farmersville, Tulare, Visalia, and Lindsay. New classes will be posted on the events calendar. Call 741-7310 for times and exact locations.

What information needs to be provided?
New participants will complete a brief intake sheet with basic information about themselves at the first class attended.

What does it cost?
Our parenting classes are free of charge.

Are there other program requirements?
Only participants who attend the entire 20 week curriculum will receive a certificate of completion. Participants who attend less than twenty weeks can receive verification of the number of classes attended.

Anger Management

How to access this service.
Apply in person at 815 W. Oak St. in Visalia. Applicants will receive a date to attend an orientation class. During orientation all applicants receive an intake appointment. Following the intake appointment, applicants begin a group.

What needs to be provided to apply?
Any applicable court orders and proof of income to determine fee for service.

Are there other program requirements.
Participants are expected to attend the weekly two hour class with minimal absences, complete homework assignments, and maintain violence free relationships.

What will it cost?
The orientation is free unless you require an individual orientation which has a fee.
The intake appointment fee is $45.00.
The weekly group meeting fee is based on a sliding scale and range from $20.00-$35.00 per week.
The fee for the Homework book is $25.00.

Services for the Developmentally Disabled

How to access this service.
Individual, couples and family counseling is accessed by applying in person at 815 W. Oak. Individuals referred by the Central Valley Regional Center will need to complete our application and sign a release of information giving Family Services permission to exchange information with the Regional Center.

Family Services also provides Socialization and Intimacy Groups for developmentally disabled participants. The curriculum addresses forming appropriate and healthy relationships and reducing vulnerability to abuse or exploitation. Self referrals may apply at 815 W. Oak. Family Services’ staff will contact referrals from the Regional Center.

What information needs to be provided?
Basic information about the individual and their circumstances. If the individual is paying for the service on their own they will need to provide us with proof of income to determine their fee for service.

How much does it cost?
If the individual is a client of the Central Valley Regional Center, the fee for service may be covered by the Regional Center. Fees for self-referrals will be determined according to their proof of income.

Assessments

Who is eligible for this service?
Any adult or child with or without court order for the assessment is eligible.

How to access this service?
Apply in person at 815 W. Oak St. in Visalia. When the completed application is received the applicant will meet privately with an intake worker/casemanager to discuss further details of the court ordered assessment and ask questions.

What information needs to be provided?
Court order, if applicable and proof of income to determine fee for service

What will it cost?
Fees for assessments are tied directly to the type of assessment requested, and the income level of the individual. Parental assessments range from $100.00-$500.00 for package A (basic) and $200.00-$800.00 for package B (extensive). Drug/Alcohol assessments, Domestic Violence assessments and Children’s assessments all range from $100.00-$400.00. Fees are determined when the individual provides proof of income.
