Family Services is a private non-profit human services agency serving children, adults, and families in Tulare County.

Counseling Services for Victims of Abuse

Family Services offers a number of different counseling services for victims of abuse. Domestic Violence Support groups meet at the following times and locations: Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. at the Hillman Health Center in Tulare; Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. adults and children’s support groups run concurrently at the Children’s Counseling Center on School Street; Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. at HHSA Prevention Services in Visalia. A Spanish-Speaking Domestic Violence group meets on Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. at the FSTC Counseling Center on Oak Street. A Violence Intervention Group for those referred by CWS is held on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. at the Children’s Counseling Center on School Street. For more information on any of these groups, please call Veronica Trevino at 741-7310.

A Rape Crisis Support Group for any female victim of sexual assault meets on Mondays at 5:15 p.m. For information regarding the confidential location, please call the Rape Crisis Center at 732-7371.

In addition, as available, counselors will respond to businesses, schools, churches, or other community agencies to provide on-site crisis support counseling and information on domestic violence or sexual assault.

CELL PHONES NEEDED
Family Services is collecting used cell phones which help support our Domestic Violence Program and the Battered Women’s Shelter. For more information, call 741-7310; cell phones can be dropped off at the office at 815 W. Oak, Visalia.
