Counseling Services for Victims of Abuse
Family Services offers a number of different counseling services for victims of abuse. Domestic Violence Support groups meet at the following times and locations: Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. at the Hillman Health Center in Tulare; Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. adults and children’s support groups run concurrently at the Children’s Counseling Center on School Street; Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. at HHSA Prevention Services in Visalia. A Spanish-Speaking Domestic Violence group meets on Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. at the FSTC Counseling Center on Oak Street. A Violence Intervention Group for those referred by CWS is held on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. at the Children’s Counseling Center on School Street. A Rape Crisis Support Group for any female victim of sexual assault meets on Mondays at 5:15 p.m. For information regarding the confidential location, please call the Rape Crisis Center at 732-7371.
In addition, as available, counselors will respond to businesses, schools, churches, or other community agencies to provide on-site crisis support counseling and information on domestic violence or sexual assault.
